Big Decisions
Right. Having sorted out my relationship with my mom, i was hoping that this whole course change decision would be settled quite immediately. Quite on the contrary, it’s become more complicated. I now worry about many other things, things that I probably shouldn’t be worrying about now.
But, this should be it. This is the weekend of my biggest decision in my life so far. Drop me a note if you have any advice, but otherwise, it looks like I’ll be making this decision very, very soon.
Punctuation Situation
Besides crossing into 15000-word territory yesterday, I also replaced the Continental dialogue dash that I’ve been using and filled out the quotation marks instead.
In defence of the dialogue dash, I think it’s beautiful to read when done right; but I made the changes because it’d be easier for me to avoid writing it poorly and confusing the reader, and I guess it’s not something I’ll worry about too much right now.

What I Bought
I failed in my quest! I went a little over my budget, but still reasonable considering that it’s the holidays and all. Here’s what I got, in no particular order:
- Darkmans, by Nicola Barker
- The Complete Novels, by Flann O’ Brien
- The Killing Joke, by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland
- After Dark, by Haruki Murakami
- Hard-Boiled Wonderland And The End Of The World, by Haruki Murakami
- The Yiddish Policemen’s Union, by Michael Chabon
- QED, by Richard Feynman
- Other Colors, by Orhan Pamuk
Oh, I also got volume 9 of the Hellsing manga.
Now to figure out in what order I’ll be reading them, though I think I just might end up taking them one at a time.
Heart-To-Heart
I guess I was too worked up the day before. My mom and I really sorted things out after that. In fact, we had a chat until two in the morning. We’ve never done things like that before. And for the first time in a long, long while, I really said good night and meant it from the bottom of my heart.
My decision may not have become any clearer, but at least, I’ve got this sorted out, and for that I’m extremely grateful.
